To Bev on Her 85th

When I sat down to write a poem today
I thought “What do I say, what do I say”?
Bev has taught us there’s no need for 5 meter
Not only that, we don’t need to rhyme either

So leave behind the style of Milton and Shakespeare
We’re celebrating with Bev tonnes right now, right here
With her one-of- a- kind style she shares her funnies,
Her cheer, her happy thoughts, her wit and her warmth…

….And, oh yes, she writes fine poetry like that, too!
